Meet COURTNIE
Courtnie is a maker girl from Atlanta. Her artworks are inspired by her surroundings and skills learned by be coming a co-founder and board member to Inventor Forge, a makerspace in STL. in her spare time she loves to read, cook, volunteer, travel and give back to the community. You’ve probably seen her exhibitions at the Kansas City Makerfaire, STL science center First Fridays, Friday night geek fest, Wizard World makerfaire panelist, Makerfaire Milwaukee, Raspberry pi jam, Dragon-con, C2E2, The White House Nation of Makers Conference 2016 (NOMCON), and local Chicago art festivals. Some earlier works could be seen at the Architecture for Humanity Atlanta Chapter Birdhouse Social events. Courtnie got her start by making model buildings for an architecture course at Parsons The new School in NYC. Courtnie is a graduate from Georgia State University and Oregon State University. She has always been creative with drawings, paintings, sculptures, knitting, woodworking, furniture making, 3D printing design, and resin art. She has a variety of maker interests and is so happy to share them with you all here.
Fun facts about the artist: Superman is her favorite superhero, she was a band geek in school, she is a vegan who loves reading and is passionate about sustainability. She is also 10% Irish.
